Peach skin fabric (also known as "Micro Fiber Peach") is a lightweight, napped, faux-suede-like textile made from microfiber. It evolved from artificial suede but is produced without the wet-process polyurethane treatment. Its name derives from the 0.2mm short pile covering its surface, which resembles the skin of a peach.
The fabric is woven using plain, twill, or satin weaves, primarily utilizing 100% polyester or polyester-nylon blends. The sanding process-controlled by parameters such as sandpaper grit and roller speed-creates a fine, short-pile structure. This results in a fabric that combines moisture absorption, breathability, and water resistance with a silk-like luster and a soft, smooth hand-feel. It is widely used in apparel (jackets, dresses, and skirts), luggage linings, footwear, headwear, and home décor. Compared to artificial suede, it features a shorter, more subtle pile and a softer texture.
