When storing silk garments-such as lightweight undergarments, shirts, trousers, skirts, or sleepwear-wash and iron them dry before putting them away. For autumn and winter garments, padded jackets, or *qipaos* that are difficult to disassemble and wash, have them dry-cleaned and ironed smooth to prevent mildew and moth damage; ironing also helps kill bacteria and insects. Additionally, ensure storage chests and cabinets are clean and well-sealed to protect against dust.
